Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi International Programme
Cambridge Checkpoint · Cambridge IGCSE · AS & A LevelAbout Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi
Our History and Background
Suankularb Wittayalai Thonburi School (SKWT) is located in the Bang Khun Thian district of Bangkok, set on approximately 30 rai (about 12 acres) of land that was once a thriving orange orchard. The land was generously donated by Mrs. Panadda Suwannanon in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and in memory of her father, Mr. Plang Suwannanon, a proud alumnus of Suankularb Wittayalai School.
The International Programme
The International Programme at SKWT (SKTIP) was established in 2018 to give students in Bangkok and surrounding areas access to world-class, internationally recognised education. In just a few years, SKTIP has grown into a vibrant academic community that combines global learning standards with the values of Thai culture and identity.
Following the Cambridge International curriculum, SKTIP equips students with a rigorous foundation spanning English communication, mathematics, sciences, humanities, and critical thinking — competencies vital for higher education and the interconnected global economy.

Our Mission
"To nurture confident, responsible, and globally minded learners by providing an internationally recognised, high-quality education that bridges Thai values with global perspectives — preparing every student for academic excellence and meaningful citizenship."
Our Vision
"To be the leading international programme in Bangkok that produces academically excellent, culturally aware, and socially responsible graduates who are prepared for a competitive global future."
Academic Pathways & Qualifications
- Recognised by universities and employers worldwide
- Develops independent thinking, research skills, and global awareness
- Flexible subject choices support individual student strengths
- Strong preparation for university entrance in Thailand and internationally
- Internationally benchmarked assessments ensure rigorous, reliable results
Cambridge Checkpoint
Students explore 8–10 subjects and build strong academic foundations across all learning areas.
Cambridge IGCSE
Students study 8–10 selected subjects aligned to their interests, beginning to focus on future pathways.
AS Level / A Level
Students specialise in 3–5 subjects with greater academic depth and university pathway preparation.
Alongside Cambridge qualifications, all students also fulfil the requirements of Thailand's national curriculum — ensuring full academic standing within the Thai education system. Some Cambridge subjects may be available for external examination only; subject availability may vary by academic year.
The programme combines the Cambridge International curriculum with the Thai national curriculum, for students aiming at international-programme universities in Thailand and overseas. Graduates receive certificates from both Cambridge International Education (CIE) and the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). Along the way: Cambridge Checkpoint in Year 8–9, IGCSE (5 subjects) in Year 10–11, AS Level in Year 12 and A Level in Year 13, with standardized tests, predicted grades and TCAS applications in Year 12–13.
What is Cambridge Checkpoint?
Cambridge Checkpoint is an international benchmark test set by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), England. It is not about passing or failing: it checks each student's foundations, showing strengths and weaknesses before they move up to IGCSE. It covers three core subjects: English (as a Second Language for most Thai students), Mathematics and Science.
- A global standard: shows whether a student's knowledge matches students of the same grade around the world.
- Diagnostic report: goes beyond a grade and shows, topic by topic, what the student does well and what still needs work, so teachers and parents can help in the right place.
- A rehearsal for IGCSE: practice before the tougher International General Certificate of Secondary Education exams in upper secondary.
Scores are not A–F grades but a number from 0.0 to 6.0:

| Round | Application | Exam | Results |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | December – early February | May – June | August |
| 2 | July – early August | October – November | January |
